Why is Oncology Massage Different?
I understand the symptoms and treatments of cancer to ensure the massage is modified according to the stage of your treatment and health on the you are wanting a massage. The approach I use for a client who has breast cancer will be very different to a client who has non-Hodgkin Lymphoma, both in terms of the techniques I use, the areas I work on and the length of the treatment. This may change over time according to your stage of health and the goals of your treatment, which could change over time.

What to expect from your Appointment?
At the start of your first appointment, I will ask you to complete an intake form and also discuss with you the goals of your session - whether that be to relieve specific pain/discomfort/tension, to feel more relaxed or help you to sleep better. I will design the session so it is entirely bespoke to you according to how you feel on the day. The massage will not be painful, but will use firm pressure and a range of techniques. I will work for anywhere between 15-60mins, I will let your body dictate how long the session should last. If you are going through treatment and do not feel well enough to attend the appointment, I urge you to listen to your body and get in touch so that we can rearrange.
